What was your first job as a journalist?

Officially, writing my CS:GO Crosshair guide.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Nope!

How is social media changing news?

Fast, flowing, blink and you'll miss it. Reducing peoples attention span for content as they're always looking for what's next.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Paul Sheldon, guy went through A LOT.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

A creative freedom to write about and inform others on topics you love and create a space for open and constructive conversation.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

#susanalbumparty the day this popped up on twitter was quite the shock before realising what the reason behind it actually was.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Topic, audience, expectation.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter, despite the harm cause by its largely unmoderated nature, it can be much less toxic if you are willing to manage the content see.

Who do you wish followed you?

Ryan McCaffery, one of my all time favourite gaming media personalities.

Why did you become a journalist?

A love of writing and the feeling of sharing my work with the world and engaging with interested parties.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I worked on my school's newsletter gathering news from around the school to report on.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

I still am one, but I would tell anyone to just be persistent and always learn. Look for learnings and lessons in every article you write.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

I think I'm yet to receive a 'best ever' but getting the chance to produce some guides for The Loadout was an incredible honour.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

Being asked to write 25 articles a month for next to no money as a 'part-time' role.

What's your favorite drink?

Captain Morgan and Coke!

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

At a sporting event supporting my local teams in football, ice hockey or just about any other sport!

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Eurogamer.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

Opinions are paid for and not free thinking.
