Microsoft Data Center Dispute Sparks Recall Discussions in Lowell Township

Laketown Twp. revokes composting operation causing odor in the area

Hundreds of complaints have been coming to Laketown Township officials for more than a year regarding the odor surrounding a composting facility, run by a company called Cocoa Corp. near I-196. "I take pride in my home, our yard, our landscaping, and there are dozens of times every summer I cannot work outside because the stink is so bad," said resident Darlene Bowman at a planning commission Wednesday. Composting is a process where natural organic waste is used to make fertilizer.
