The Navy continues to struggle to improve schedule and cost performance across its shipbuilding portfolio, according to the Government Accountability Office's annual assessment, which found worsening production delays within the Virginia-class submarine, Ford-class aircraft carrier and Arleigh Burke-class destroyer programs.

The Marine Corps' Japan-based III Marine Expeditionary Force has officially integrated the Medium-Range Intercept Capability into its forward-deployed forces, the service announced this week. MRIC is a mobile air defense capability designed by the service’s Ground Based Air Defense program office to defend against cruise missiles and both manned and unmanned aircraft.

The Pentagon has selected autonomy company Overland AI to build unmanned ground vehicles for the Marine Corps, awarding the company a $19.7 million Other Transaction Authority production contract . Under the award, the Seattle-based company will deliver fully autonomous vehicles to resupply the Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS), a mobile, counter-drone capability within the service’s Ground Based Air Defense (GBAD) portfolio.
