Nidhi Parekh’s Biography
Nidhi is the founder and lead researcher of The Shared Microscope, is a freelance science writer and content creator who has undertaken work for various clients including Johnson & Johnson and Kaplan. Nidhi has also given science communication lectures and workshops to students at the University of Rochester and McMaster University. More recently, she has been writing about the COVID-19 vaccines to raise awareness on how they work and her articles have garnered a readership of over 30,000 individuals internationally. Experts including Jeremy Farrer, Uché Blackstone, and Luke O’Neill have also shared her work on Twitter.
Earlier this year, Nidhi started SciComm Club through which she hopes to share her journey in Science Communication and also give advice and reach out to fellow SciComm-ers. Nidhi hosts #SciCommChat on her SciCommClub Twitter account, every week on Wednesday at 6pm GMT/12pm CT. Through this weekly chat, she invites other SciComm-ers to answer your burning questions about the field. Nidhi is also passionate about preventive medicine and health literacy and one day hopes to open a clinic to further her work to improve health literacy and empower patients.
