The pandemic has brought social entrepreneurship and its importance to light. It’s a branch of business focused on helping others. Noah Somphone spoke to USC students about how businesses can work together with communities. Christine Fisseha always loved entrepreneurship, especially at home in Uganda. But, during the pandemic, she realized that COVID showed a much greater need for a different type of entrepreneurship -- social impact.

(Photo by Ling Luo) In recognition of thousands of first generation students at USC, the First Generation Plus Success Center (FG+SC) launched several events and resources this week. The FG+SC, which was established this fall following President Carol Folt’s diversity initiatives, organized the week’s events.

The workshops, named “Election Stress Workshops”, are being held from Oct. 26 through Nov. 9. They are intended to provide an atmosphere of support amid a stressful elections season.
