What was your first job as a journalist?
As a paid military journalist intern rappelling, stream crossing, and going through the gas chamber with Army cadets in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
MacBook Air, Sony voice recorder, Otter.ai
What's your favorite social network?
I love to keep up with family and friends and former colleagues through Facebook.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did. I was the go-to journalist to come up with headlines and proofread my fellow journalists' work.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Find your niche and chase it with all your heart.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime at all.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I haven't gotten one worth mentioning here, yet.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On the water, out in nature.
