Nola Schoder is a freelance journalist, visual storyteller, and award-winning photographer dedicated to the ocean, wildlife, conservation, and travel. She has lived in Italy, hiked through Tayrona, Colombia in flip flops, has a giant manta ray named after her, and scuba dived in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala (among many other places).
She has focused extensively on ocean conservation, climate change, and vulnerable communities, as well as travel and culture. Her work has appeared in DeeperBlue.com, University of Miami Shark Research & Conservation, NOAA’s Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary, Ocean Conservancy, and several localized lifestyle magazines and media outlets. She has a BA in Communication from UC San Diego, and a Master of Professional Science in marine conservation from the University of Miami.
