What was your first job as a journalist?
My first position out of college was a yearlong fellowship at POLITICO that started two weeks after my graduation.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Never.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Clark Kent. How amazing is it that Superman, one of the world's best superheroes, is also a journalist?
Who do you wish followed you?
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Bernie Sanders and John Kasich followed me on Twitter, but neither of them is the party's nominee.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
I always encourage aspiring journalists to read good writing and emulate it, and to surround themselves with people who share their ambition.
