Results All telephone interviews were conducted by male peer researchers (SS, MS, JS) from Pakistani Asian ethnic groups who spoke multiple languages including Urdu, Punjabi, French and English. They were all part of the Muslim Council of Britain Research and Documentation Committee. SS has a clinical background and clinical research experience; SS, MS and JS did not have any experience in undertaking social science research and had experience in supporting family members who had ill health.
