Two years ago, when I watched the awaited prequel series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (will be referred to as The Rings of Power from this point onwards), an expansion of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings universe, I would have told you it was one of the best series of the year. I took upon the challenge of rewatching the series to refresh my mind for one reason. I wanted to see if I could remember any of the characters and plots of this expansive (and expensive) series.

A Hundred Years Ago In a Galaxy Far, Far Away.... Before I say anything else about the new live-action Star Wars series, I'll just say one thing. Manny Jacinto brought sexy back to Star Wars. I had no intention of watching The Acolyte because of the allegations of assault, harassment and homophobia against Lee Jung-jae, who starred in Netflix's hit series Squid Game.

Kelsey Egan's The Fix is set in a dystopian future where over-industrialisation has ruined the Earth's atmosphere and the commercialisation of air by greedy corporations is used to make a profit. It follows an up-and-coming supermodel who deals with her mother's death and takes a drug that changes her life forever. Egan's directorial debut Glasshouse explores a family living in a glasshouse and strictly adheres to rules by surviving a dangerous airborne neurochemical that erases people's memories.
