1 Introduction Endothermic animals, such as mammals, regulate body temperature through metabolic processes to maintain homeostasis, whereas ectothermic organisms depend on environmental conditions to stay within a viable temperature range. For example, reptiles bask in sunlight to raise their body temperature and seek shade to cool down [1].

Abstract : One-dimensional photonic crystals have been used in sensing applications for decades, due to their ability to induce highly reflective photonic bandgaps. In this study, one-dimensional photonic crystals with alternating low- and high-density layers were fabricated from a single photosensitive polymer (IP-Dip) by two-photon polymerization.
