A video of a small boat wake jumping behind a BC Ferries vessel last week prompts warnings from search and rescue volunteers. A video of a motorboat using a ferry’s wake for jumps has gained traction online, prompting warnings from the BC Ferry & Marine Workers Union and SAR members. Watch below: The video, shared on Instagram, shows the motorboat coming close to a BC Ferries vessel, then speeding up to jump off its wake.

Saanich School District (SD63) says its buses are no longer servicing a stretch of Prospect Lake Road, affecting more than a dozen students, after a recent collision. It took 40 minutes for parents and students on Wednesday morning to walk more than two kilometres to Prospect Lake Elementary School, a route that students would normally take a school bus.

The owner of a truck that was stolen last week and found on fire at the Cedar Hill Golf Course is hoping the suspect will turn their life around. Nicholls says he was confused until the driver went over the curb and drove away.
