I'm a news junkie and sucker for long-form journalism. I love the fast pace of media and getting away from my desk to chase a story in person

What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Any pitch where a brand or publicist wants to "partner" on a story.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On a birding trail, at a vegan restaurant, or outside hyperfixating on a new hobby that I will most likely abandon within weeks.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Nautilus. It's always digging into the natural world with smart reporting and gripping stories about science.
