After a busy stretch of severe weather over the past week, a much quieter pattern has settled in across the Stateline. While this may be the case, we still have a few chances at seeing showers and thunderstorms, and at least one chance of seeing severe weather, though it likely won’t be as significant as last week. Temperatures are off to a cool start today, with most of us sitting in the low to mid 50s.

The next 12 to 24 hours will continue our active streak of severe weather with yet another round or two possible later this afternoon and evening. Through the morning we’ll be keeping a close eye on thunderstorms developing to our west in portions of Nebraska and Iowa. These storms are expected to strengthen as they move east and may bring the potential for severe storms this afternoon along with another round possible into this evening.

This week we had the pleasure of bringing on Ben as our Kidcaster! Ben is a 12-year-old from Rockford who was celebrating his last day of school with us this morning! He can’t wait for school to be out so he can get going on his family’s vacation this weekend!
