Introduction Anthropogenic climate change is a growing threat to human health and well-being.1 Extreme heat events (EHEs), or heatwaves, are recognised as one the deadliest consequences of climate change.2 In this article, we focus on the threat of EHEs in children, who are doubly burdened with heightened vulnerability to extreme heat and the injustice of shouldering a climate crisis that they inherited and did not create.
