1 Introduction DNA origami nanostructures (DONs) [1, 2] have become an integral part of modern biomedical research [3-5], serving, for instance, as vehicles for drug [6, 7], enzyme [8, 9], and gene [10, 11] delivery, as diagnostic biosensors [12, 13], and as active pharmaceuticals [14, 15]. In the early days, DON-related research in biomedicine focused mostly on applications in cancer chemotherapy [16-18].
