Bifunctional nickel phosphide nanoparticle/nickel cobalt sulfide nanosheet framework for electrocatalytic simultaneous hydrogen evolution and 2,5-Furandicaroxylic acid production
The excessive consumption of fossil fuels to meet human energy and chemical needs has aggravated greenhouse gas emissions, resulting in global warming and climate change. The developments of renewable energy sources [1], [2], [3] and biomass transformation [4], [5], [6], [7], [8] processes are therefore critical to fulfilling the growing demand for energy and chemical resources while also mitigating the accumulation of CO2 emissions [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8].
Abstract No. 594 Single Session Mechanical Thrombectomy of Ileofemoral Deep Vein Thrombosis with ClotTriever: Exploring its Possibilities in an Outpatient Setting
To show the safety and effectiveness of mechanical thrombectomy (MT) using ClotTriever for iliofemoral DVT declot as an elective procedure performed on an outpatient basis with same-day or next-day 23 hour discharge.
M032 SUCCESSFUL USE OF OMALIZUMAB WITH VENOM IMMUNOTHERAPY IN A HIGH-RISK CHILD
Systemic reactions to Hymenoptera venom can be fatal. Venom immunotherapy (VIT) is a highly effective treatment to prevent anaphylaxis. However, up to one-fifth of patients have been reported to react to immunotherapy. Concomitant omalizumab therapy has been shown to induce tolerance of VIT, but this strategy is not well-studied in children. We present a case of a child with history of anaphylaxis to Hymenoptera skin testing who successfully tolerated VIT with the addition of omalizumab.
M273 SGPL1 DEFICIENCY PRESENTING AS SEVERE LYMPHOPENIA AND NEPHROTIC SYNDROME
Introduction The SGPL1 gene encodes sphingosine -1-phosphate (S1P) lyase, an enzyme that degrades S1P, a key regulator of lymphocyte egress from the lymphoid organs. SGPL1 deficiency is a rare primary immunodeficiency disorder (PID) that may present with adrenal insufficiency, nephrotic syndrome, recurrent infections, and lymphopenia. We describe a case of adrenal calcifications, nephrotic syndrome, and lymphopenia due to SGPL1 deficiency.
Long-term Survival with 18-Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography-directed Therapy in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer with Synchronous Solitary Brain Metastasis
Highlights • Patients in this study had contemporary imaging with brain MRI and whole-body FDG-PET/CT. • Appropriate selection of patients presenting with solitary brain metastases for definitive treatment of the lung and brain was associated with a favourable 5-year overall survival. • Prolonged overall survival was also noted in those patients with >N1 disease. • Highlights the need for future prospective studies to guide the management of patients with oligometastatic NSCLC.
M294 INVASIVE ASPERGILLOSIS PRESENTING WITH SUBTLE CLINICAL SYMPTOMS IN A CGD PATIENT
To view the full text, please login as a subscribed user or purchase a subscription. Click here to view the full text on ScienceDirect. While we know patients with CGD are susceptible to catalase producing bacteria and fungi, their clinical symptoms may present subtler than expected for the severity of their disease. We describe a case of a 32-month-old male with CGD who presented acutely with decreased energy and non-specific abdominal discomfort.
Synovasure ‘quick test’ is not as accurate as the laboratory-based α-defensin immunoassay
Synovasure ‘quick test’ is not as accurate as the laboratory-based ?-defensin immunoassay K. Suen, M. Keeka, R. Ailabouni, P. Tran Bone Joint J Jan 2018, 100-B (1) 66-72; DOI: 10.1302/0301-620X.100B1.BJJ-2017-0630.R1
Everolimus-induced nephrotic syndrome precipitated by interaction with voriconazole in a patient with Hodgkin's lymphoma
What is known and objectives Everolimus is a small molecule that inhibits the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and is used for treatment of various solid tumours and renal transplant rejection prophylaxis. Whereas everolimus-induced proteinuria was previously observed in 3%-36% renal transplant recipients, nephrotic syndrome was not reported in cancer patients taking everolimus. However, nephrotic syndrome was reported in patients taking sirolimus.
