Phillip Anjorin is a freelance journalist with an avid interest in education and human-angle stories
A recent graduateof Mass Communication department in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Phillip doubles as the Editor-in-Chief of the Union of Campus Journalists, (AAUA) and the Managing Editor of AAUA Insider.
His root in journalism can be traced as far back as 2018 when he joined Echo Media, a campus-based newspaper organization in AAUA, and later rose to the rank of a Feature Editor in 2020.
He recently served as an intern with Premium Times newspaper. His bylines are spread across different media platforms. He is also a content manager at Nixxhash Communications, a fast-rising Organization that specialise in Public Relations and Brand management.
To strengthen democracy in Nigeria, Phillip has served as a three-times domestic election observer — Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti — with the Centre for Journalism, Innovation, and Development (CJID), formerly known as PTCIJ.
He was awarded the Best Reporter of the Year at the NUCJ AAUA Merits Award (NAMA) on February 2nd, 2020. He also got into the final list of the AAUA INSIDER Most Outstanding Student in Journalism.
In 2022, he became a Campus Solution Ambassador for i-79 media where he serve as a solution-desk reporter for the platform. Also, he became a Writing Fellow for African Liberty Writers along with 29 other Africans.
He's a motivator, critical thinker, an ardent volunteer, and a lover of nature.
