2.3. Data analysis Data concerning gestational and stage II labour were reported as median, minimum, and maximum values. ECG signals were processed by Matlab software (MATLAB Environment, 2021) to extract the HRV time series. Since the computation of some ECG extracted parameters is dependent on the time-window length, the ECG signal was analysed within time windows of equal length for all the animals to obtain comparable results in each period.
