Abstract Earthquake P-wave detection is the first and most critical step in Earthquake Early Warning (EEW), as detection speed determines how much time is available before strong shaking arrives, while detection accuracy governs the reliability of the warning. Conventional P-Wave detection methods such as Short-Term Average over Long-Term Average (STA/LTA) often struggle in complex noise environments and exhibit higher detection latency.

Abstract Slow-slip events at global subduction zones relieve tectonic stress over days to years. Through slow-slip cycles, high fluid pressures observed at the top of subducting plates are thought to fluctuate, potentially due to the valving action of an impermeable layer near the plate interface.

Abstract Transient fault slip spans time scales from tens of seconds of earthquake rupture to years of aseismic afterslip. So far, seismic and geodetic recordings of these two phenomena have primarily been studied separately and mostly with a focus on kinematic aspects, which limits our physical understanding of the interplay between seismic and aseismic slip.
