Four Caribana-season events are happening across Toronto this weekend, including free and ticketed options. The lineup includes the official Kaiso 365 Calypso Monarch Finals, a Caribbean cookout and two cultural workshops. Toronto Caribbean Carnival’s biggest weekend may still be a few weeks away, but the city is already getting into the Caribana spirit.

Banff ranked first with a modelled 75 per cent chance of being overcrowded, followed by Cavendish, P.E.I., at 72 per cent. Niagara Falls and Muskoka were the only Ontario destinations in the top 10, ranking seventh and eighth, respectively. Jasper placed 10th despite a 43.6 per cent decline in visitors following the 2024 wildfire, with tourism expected to rebound in 2026. The ranking considered peak-season tourists per resident, visitor growth, summer search demand, and short-term rental density.

The 15-foot statue depicts Joe Carter leaping after his walk-off home run secured the 1993 World Series championship. Located outside Gate 5, it honours the Blue Jays’ 1992 and 1993 championship teams and includes both rosters on its base. Fans called the tribute “beautiful” and “well-deserved,” while others said the long-awaited recognition should have happened sooner.
