Since the election of Dr John Elaigwu Odogbo as the successor paramount ruler of the Idoma Kingdom, claims and counter claims have been trending in the social and mainstream media. This certainly is not healthy for the cohesion and peaceful coexistence of the good people of the Idoma Kingdom. This has compelled me to make this call for calm and restraint on the part of all parties involved. I’m aware that some persons are not happy with the process of the election of the successor Och’Idoma V.

Last Saturday’s verification of the recall procedures of the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, was an anticlimax. It was equally a disgrace and let down for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Kogi State government of Yahaya Bello. It also further rubbishes the President Muhammadu Buhari presidency, which is believed by many to be the instigator of the Melaye recall process.

The processes leading to the 2019 governorship election is near. In fact, the primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is less than 8 months. ?Whether or not power will shift from Ibadan will be known in the next few months. What is certain is that Governor Ajimobi will exit Agodi Government House in 2019, what is uncertain is the person who will succeed him. Let me digress a little.
