Trapped atomic ions offer a powerful platform for exploring quantum physics and processing quantum information, thanks to the high degree of control they allow over individual quantum systems. Traditionally, lasers have been used to manipulate these ions and create interactions between them. However, radio-frequency (rf) radiation provides an alternative method with less technological complexity, which is promising for scaling up quantum processors.

Sweeping changes are underway across DTCC’s Asset Servicing landscape, with several modernization and dematerialization projects planned in the next few years. To provide insight into the timeline of these changes and the benefits to clients, DTCC hosted its annual Asset Services Forum in May. “We encourage input from our industry partners,” said Patrick Barthel, DTCC Executive Director, Asset Services, as he introduced the panel of speakers.
