Zillow’s co-founder Rich Barton has announced a move to Las Vegas after decades in Seattle, according to a recent post on X. “Officially a Las Vegas resident,” the June 5 post said, “Kids are launched, empty nest achieved, and we’re excited to start this next chapter.” Barton co-founded Zillow some two decades ago and is still the company’s co-executive chairman. He also co-founded Expedia Group. He has an estimated net worth of somewhere around $1.2 billion, according to Forbes.

Vegas rents have risen almost 20% faster than LA rents since 2019, report says

Rents in the Las Vegas Valley have increased close to 20 percentage points more than Los Angeles in the past seven years, according to a new study. In June 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic started, the median cost of a one-bedroom apartment in the Las Vegas Valley was approximately $1,053, and as of June that now sits at $1,235, or 17 percent increase.

A sprawling 126-acre property known as Shakespeare Ranch in Glenbrook, which is part of Lake Tahoe, is still on the market and now has seen a substantial price drop. The eight residence, 19-bedroom ranch is now listed for $125 million, down from its original listing price of $188 million, according to the new listing. The property now excludes a previously listed residence and two lots but includes a nearly completed main house.
