1 Introduction The design of ligands with confined coordination space is a very important issue in coordination chemistry, since it allows to drive chemical reactions highly selectively in a rational approach. Such ligands bind selectively to metals and control the approach of two reactants. A confined coordination space also could favor special coordination modes with distinct physical and chemical properties. A number of strategies have been developed for the introduction of steric constraints.
