Following a road less traveled: PhotoArts Guild exhibit at OSU wanders off the beaten path
Twenty-six photographers from the Willamette Valley PhotoArts Guild ventured "off the beaten path" in the group's new exhibit at Oregon State University. The last stanza from Robert Frost's timeless poem "The Road Not Taken" served as their guide: "Two Roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." "What we wanted the theme to be was an idea of going a way others haven't gone," says organizer Rich Bergeman.

Let there be 'Light:' Holiday show opens at The Arts Center
What is light? By definition, it is something that makes things visible or affords illumination. But when it comes to artists' visual interpretations of light, the new show at The Arts Center in Corvallis suggests that the possibilities are unlimited. "About Light" is the theme of this year's holiday exhibition, on display Nov. 9 through Dec. 28 at The Arts Center. The theme is a simple, yet very versatile, one for artists, says Hester Coucke, the curator at The Arts Center.

The New York-based comic, who has appeared on Comedy Central, "Conan," and "The Tonight Show," will perform Friday at the Majestic Theatre to launch the third season of Corvallis Comedy Night.
