TCU’s 3-3-5 and facing bigger personnel
Offensive trends are becoming clear and one thing is inevitable, you will face bigger personnel (12, 21, 22, 23). There was much skepticism about a defense designed to stop the spread of the Big 12 being able to handle a punishing Big Ten run game.
Get Your Offense a +1 With the QB Run Game
“Don’t change the play. Change the presentation.” It’s something that David Marsh heard often and built in to the philosophy and design of his offense. Marsh is the offensive coordinator at FCS Texas Southern after sebring as the OC at Campbell, and as an assistant at Texas A&M. Marsh believes in being able to get an advantage for the offense by strategically utilizing the QB run game. He has systematized that within his offense. Why the QB Run Game?
Are You Causing a 14 Point Turnaround...Against Your Team?
For many of us, it is the offseason. It is a time of development for us as coaches and especially for our players. When I go back through my 30 years of coaching the one physical component I know there never is enough of is SPEED! Having spent 30 years coaching, I can admit that unless a football coach has experience in track, he really doesn’t know how to train speed. I see the same mistakes made over and over, and utilizing track knowledge would be an incredibly smart decision.

It's Time Former 49ers' Star Patrick Willis Moves Forward to a Canton Conversation
(EDITOR'S NOTE: To access the Matt Maiocco interview, click on the following attachment: Ep 39: NFL Draft, Jimmy G, Patrick Willis, and the 49ers With Matt Maiocco | Spreaker) When this year’s Pro Football Hall-of-Fame finalists were announced, I was surprised – no, shocked – that former San Francisco 49ers’ defensive lineman Bryant Young didn’t make the cut. He was the only finalist from 2020 who didn’t return, and, sorry, but I don’t get it.
Raiders Free Agency: Still Available Veterans
The Las Vegas Raiders got busy when free agency opened a few weeks ago. However, the Silver and Black still holds about $6-8 million in cap space. They should use every last dollar to add more competition. What free agents should the Raiders consider at this point in free agency? Free Agency Recap Vegas addressed pass rush needs by signing edge Yannick Ngakoue, defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson, defensive tackle Soloman Thomas and more.
NHL Trending Up, Trending Down - Week 11
The National Hockey League’s trade deadline is just under two weeks away and the races in the North, East, Central, and West are still tight enough that the number of sellers are up in the air, which along with budgetary constraints and lack of cap room may limit the number of deals made before April 12, but the Canadian government’s reduction of the cross-border quarantine from 14 to seven days may help smooth the way for some trades to be made.

Looking At The Boston Bruins’ Trade Deadline Options
Brad Marchand and Brandon Carlo returned to the lineup Tuesday, and Sean Kuraly is practicing again after nearly two weeks on the NHL’s Covid-19 list. General manager Don Sweeney is seemingly going to get his wish — he’s going to see what his roster looks like nearly healthy, albeit without goaltender Tuukka Rask for at least a short time more, before the April 12 trade deadline. Of course the idea that Sweeney needed to see his team more was always a stalling tactic.

What Does a 17th Game Mean For The Buccaneers?
On Tuesday, the NFL announced that in 2021, the league will officially move to a 17-game schedule, the first change to the regular season game total since 1978. So, what does that mean for the defending Super Bowl Champions? Well, it means that in addition to what would have been their 16-game schedule, they will now play the Indianapolis Colts. In addition, if both the Chiefs and Bucs win their division in 2021, then we will get a Super Bowl LV rematch during the 2022 regular season.

Chicago Bears: Time Has Come For Team To Trade Allen Robinson
If the Chicago Bears won’t pay wide receiver Allen Robinson the money he expects they have to cut their losses and trade him for draft picks. The Allen Robinson/Chicago Bears saga has lasted long enough. The star wide receiver wants to be paid like one of the top players in his position while the team wants to pay him a notch below that. Robinson has been the Bears’ top offensive asset despite the struggles with the quarterback position.
Raiders Opinion: Secondary Remains Primary Issue
At the risk of sounding like the town crier, the Las Vegas Raiders still have yet to sign a new defensive back. As the days pass by, it begins to feel more and more like the Raiders may pick one early in the draft. If anything, it may feel this way because assuming a defensive back will be drafted is far more calming than the alternative, which would be the Raiders, now overflowing with defensive linemen, are content with their secondary going forward.
Five Memorable Moments From The Toronto Marlies’ Season
It’s been an up-and-down season for the Toronto Marlies so far. The team currently sits just a hair over .500, sporting a 9-8-1 record and a +1 goal differential. A couple of unexpected players are having productive offensive years – including 27-year-old Hamilton, Ont. native Tyler Gaudet. On the flip side of things, team goaltending has been abysmal. Marlies’ starters have collectively posted a 3.04 GAA and a .889 SV%. Numbers that are far from good enough.
Flyers Eke Out Win Over Sabres, Put Shayne Gostisbehere On Waivers
At some point, the Buffalo Sabres will win a game. And supporters of the losing team will be crushed. On Monday, Philadelphia Flyers fans went through two periods of torture as the Sabres built a 3-0 lead over their squad. Then, the veterans came through. Kevin Hayes got the comeback rolling at the 1:50 mark of the third.
The NBA’s Fascination with Poker
Poker is a big part of NBA culture. This isn’t surprising given how poker is a form of recreation to pass time on those long flights across the U.S. and is also a great way to bond with teammates. In addition, playing poker requires laser-like focus, mental toughness, and a competitive drive — three things that easily appeal to NBA players. Of course, it helps too that they can play for large sums of money.
This Or That: Draft Radunz Or Cosmi At 31 Overall?
The 2021 NFL Draft is just about a month away. This year’s selections will be unlike any other. Teams will have to decipher between players that have plenty of college experience under their belt, or they may be taking a gamble on a player who has not played a game in a year and a half. Due to the pandemic, several players opted out completely from a 2020 season, or were limited to minimal games altogether. The players we will be focusing on today fit both sides of that coin, to a degree.
UND’s Loss May Be The Ottawa Senators’ Gain
The no.1 seed in the Fargo Regionals and top-ranked NCAA men’s hockey program in the United States, playing on home ice – fell in historic fashion – a quintuple overtime loss to the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Lower drug prices
I am an older American, and I want my members of Congress to address skyrocketing prescription drug prices. There are bipartisan proposals in Congress to fix this — so this is the moment to finally enact legislation into law. Like many seniors, I cannot afford to keep paying higher and higher prices for the medications I need. No one should have to choose between putting food on the table and filling life-saving prescriptions.
Five Leadership Lessons You Learn Playing Offensive Line Worth More than the Touchdowns You Won’t Be Scoring This Season
You may not get to score touchdowns, your name may not be called out for making tackles and you may even hang your head a little when you tell someone you’re “just” an offensive lineman, but there are lessons you are learning now which will last you and help you for the rest of your life. --- Lesson #1: You are learning to take joy in the dirty work. If you’re playing on the O-Line, you may have a rock solid core under a little play-doh, but you probably don’t have a six pack.
You’re a captain, now what? 5 Tips to bring your team together and establish yourself as a true leader
1. Lead by example in terms of effort. This is probably the one you’re already best at doing. Captains generally tend to be not only good athletes, but great workers. An old leadership adage goes like this, “Your team will do what you do well half as well and will do what you do poorly twice as poorly.” So if you are the leader of your team and you are skipping your last two reps in the weight room, the people you lead will be skipping four.
Go Nuts - richmondmagazine.com
You don’t need an open fire to roast chestnuts, and the company of one Jack Frost is optional. What you will need is a little bit of heat and a little bit of time to peel, but don’t worry — your efforts shall be rewarded. These prehistoric nuts were possibly one of the first foods ingested by humans. Prevalent in early Asia and Greece, from there they spread to Europe. Here in the states, the American chestnut was once one of the most plentiful trees on the East Coast until stricken by blight.
