⚡ 2026 NEC • Article 250 Technical Review One of the biggest reasons Article 250 still creates confusion in the field is because people use the word ground as if it describes every conductor, jumper, bar, bond, rod, and connection associated with grounding and bonding. That shortcut may sound harmless, but it leads to real mistakes in the field. The 2026 NEC still requires precision. An equipment grounding conductor is not the same thing as a grounding electrode conductor.

Once you separate those two ideas, the section becomes much easier to understand and apply.
