YOUTHS of Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte participate in a tree-planting to expand the mangrove forest cover of Del Carmen Mangrove Boardwalk. In the last decade, from 2011 to 2020, the world experienced the warmest global temperatures on record. As a result, countries face drastic changes in the climate, affecting the lives, livelihoods and futures of many people. Destructive storms have intensified and heat waves have become hotter and longer.

In the face of the intensifying effects of climate change, countries are confronted with differentiated and disproportionate impacts. Developing countries contributing the least to global greenhouse gas emissions are those most affected, vulnerable and at-risk to climate change. With limited resources, developing countries face difficulty in immediately addressing the multifaceted issues posed by climate change.
