What was your first job as a journalist?
Working as an on-air news personality for WCTR Radio. Also a reporter/columnist for the Pilot Newspaper. Both while I was in college.

Of course.
How is social media changing news?
It is current - now. The news cycle is shortened so people want what's happening this minute - not this hour. Now we can tell them.

What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means communicating important stories about today's events and how they impact our readers/listeners w/ context and personalities.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I want the facts and why its important. Let me run with the details.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use my phone to record interviews and my laptop to type stories. I usually post on social media and use WORD for word processing.

More members of the media.
Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted to communicate to my community what's important and what's happening. I want my stories to make a difference.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes - editor.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Autonomous Shuttles working in Switzerland and Las Vegas.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Go for the story. Make it yours but tell the whole truth.
