What was your first job as a journalist?

Fitness writer for Cycling Weekly

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Other than as a child as a toy... no.

How is social media changing news?

It's giving the athletes and teams their own platform to dictate the news, whilst also giving everyone a voice (for good and bad)

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

ProCyclingStats is a saviour for any cycling journalist and probably doesn't get as much credit as it should

Twitter

Why did you become a journalist?

To be closer the action of live sport

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Just write as much as you can, for as many different publications. Or even try to set up your own project.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On the sofa, on my bike or out for a run.

Cycling - ProCycling, Newspaper - The Guardian

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That travelling for work is glamorous and not tiring
