A A A Here’s an unexpected pairing that works amazingly well; guitarist Bailey, a founding father of European free improvised music, and drum master Motian, who made his name with Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett before going on to be an important leader in his own right. Two live recordings of their duo in concert turned up in Bailey’s archive, and the Frozen Reeds label has released the best of these on LP, generously including a download card for a digital version of the entire second concert.
