Bulgari - Interview with Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bulgari - People and interviews - WorldTempus
Information Paul O'Neil Who am I? Liker Comment Share What were the highlights for Bulgari in 2018? It was another year of growth and market share gain for us if I compare our figures with the total Swiss watch industry exports. I’m very happy about that because we have been outperforming the industry for four years now, ever since we launched the Lvcea collection in 2014. This has become one of our key product pillars, together with the hugely successful Octo and Serpenti collections.
Painful History: The worst tragedy in the history of the Northern Alberta Railways
CARBONDALE JUNCTION On November 10, 1959, 13.6 miles North of Dunvegan Yards, the worst tragedy in the history of the Northern Alberta Railways (NAR) occurred. As a result, four people died and half a dozen men were released from their positions following a public inquest. STATION HISTORY The hamlet of Carbondale, North of Edmonton’s Dunvegan Yards, was at one time home to a small railway station on the Northern Alberta Railways (NAR) line.

Civilians wave Hungary’s national flag from a captured Soviet tank in Budapest’s main square during the anti-communist uprising of October 1956. AP Photo By Gerry Bowler For a time, Moscow seemed willing to accept change in Hungary, but when Nagy announced that his country would leave the Warsaw Pact and become neutral in the Cold War, that was a bridge too far for Khrushchev. After World War II ended in the summer of 1945, the Soviet Red Army found itself to be in possession of Eastern Europe.
THE RED SHOE MYSTERY
The highly vocal and highly excitable world of amateur athletics was properly impressed this summer when Russia's record-hungry track team suddenly produced two 7-foot high jumpers.
Editorial - One minute after midnight… - WorldTempus Newsletter - WorldTempus
If there’s one thing that everyone will remember from the SIHH 2019 it’s Code 11.59. It’s a rather strange name for a watch collection. The 11.59 is supposed to signal the arrival of a new day, although for an Anglo-Saxon audience it could just as easily be the minute before lunch time. But the SIHH is now over, the new day has begun and it’s one minute after midnight. Time to look ahead… I noticed two things at the SIHH that help to give an indication of where the industry might be heading.

A Day To Remember A DAY TO REMEMBER The Derby THE DERBY May 5 brought Derby Day and the heart-gripping charge of the 3-year-olds at Churchill Downs. Novelist John P. Marquand took leave of absence from Happy Knoll to be there for SI—and his reflections on the day and its deeds start on page 29.
THE CASE AGAINST THE IBC
This case presents classic instances of violations of the antitrust laws. A group of men have banded together to seek domination of a field. In this, they have succeeded. It is submitted that the equity powers of this Court should be invoked to dissolve that amalgamation of power and enjoin the illegal practices through which it was achieved. So ends the government brief in the case of United States of America, Plaintiff, vs. International Boxing Club of New York, Inc., et al., Defendants.
The Question: What sport provokes the most arguments in your home?
The Answers: WARREN AUSTIN JR.BURLINGTON, VT.ATTORNEY"Golf. My wife was afraid of becoming a golf widow. I didn't want her to tag along, but she would trail me to the country club against my orders. There she'd take golf lessons. Now she teaches me. It's downright humiliating. But the arguments are not so frequent. She's won." HELEN BROWNPHILADELPHIABARMAID"Swimming. On the beach he'd eye every dame in a swim suit. Even auntie in a Bikini. And what arguments! Then I learned why. He couldn't help it.

Get the Word of the Day - silver-tongued | Dictionary.com
Origin of silver-tongued Silver-tongued may be named for the pleasing resonance of a silver bell. Even more pleasing and eloquent, therefore, would be chrysostom or chrysostomos “golden-mouthed,” from Greek chrys?stomos, from chrys?s “gold” and st?ma “mouth.” As an epithet, chrysostom is reserved for the ancient Greek philosopher and historian Dio (or Dion) Chrysostom (c40–c115 a.d.), but in particular for the Greek patriarch and Church Father John Chrysostom (c347–407).
Watch industry outlook for 2016
Quick-witted, frank, optimistic, ambitious and adventurous. Could there be a more suitable list of attributes that we need in 2016? As Jean-Claude Biver admirably demonstrated last year while others were prevaricating, some quick-witted risk-taking can pay dividends in marketing. TAG Heuer now holds the sponsorship rights with the German Bundesliga and the Austrian Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team, among many others.

'COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS AN INFERNAL NUISANCE'
The University of Chicago abandoned intercollegiate football in 1939 because the game hampered the university's efforts to become the kind of institution it aspired to be. The university believed that it should devote itself to education, research and scholarship. Intercollegiate football has little to-do with any of these things and an institution that is to do well in them will have to concentrate upon them and rid itself of irrelevancies, no matter how attractive or profitable.
