Working in the Sports Information Department at John Carroll University. Writing recaps, calling games, and learning how to cover athletes.

It’s made news faster and more interactive. Social media gives journalists tools to share stories, find sources, and engage audiences.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Gale Weathers from Scream. She' relentless, resourceful, and never afraid to get too close to the action even if it’s a little dangerous.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means asking questions, listening closely, and telling stories that matter. Being a journalist is about earning trust.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Keep it clear and concise. A brief summary, why it matters, and any relevant sources or visuals go a long way. If it connects to sports, student voices, or culture, even better.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Google Docs, Adobe Premiere, Canva, and WordPress for writing and editing and social platforms like X and Instagram to follow stories and share them.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter is where news breaks, conversations happen in real time, and sports debates never stop.
Who do you wish followed you?
Kirk Herbstreit or Joel Klatt who are two of the sharpest voices in college football. I'd love to know they’re seeing my coverage.
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist to tell stories that matter, stories that spotlight underrepresented voices, break down complex issues, and connect people through shared experiences. I’m driven by curiosity, a passion for clarity, and a belief in the power of storytelling to spark understanding and change.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Covering Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s visit to Emerson, where she spoke about defending democracy through higher education. It was an opportunity to highlight student activism and the power of civic engagement on campus.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
I’m still an aspiring journalist myself, but one thing I’ve learned is the value of showing up and being curious.

Watching a game, exploring a city, or jotting notes. I’m usually out chasing a story or the next idea.
