Background: Following endotracheal post-extubation dysphagia is a prevalent problem among critically sick intensive care unit patients. It frequently leads to delayed oral intake, aspiration, malnutrition, extended hospital stays, and poor recovery results. The purpose of this narrative review was to assess how well oral exercise works as a nursing intervention to enhance oral intake and swallowing function in patients in intense critical care after extubation.
