Extreme barocaloric effect at dissolution - Nature
Abstract Refrigeration is indispensable to modern society1, yet the dominant vapour-compression systems rely on environmentally harmful fluorocarbon refrigerants with high global warming potential2,3,4. Solid-state caloric refrigeration offers a low-carbon alternative5,6,7, but its practical deployment has been hindered by limited cooling capacity and the inefficient indirect heat transfer that requires secondary fluids.

Diffuse Ferroelectric Phase Transition-Dependent Photovoltaic Effect in BiFeO3–BaTiO3-Based Solid Solutions
1. Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Photovoltaic (PV) effect in ferroelectric (FE) materials, which is also known as FE PV effect (FPV), has been attracting much attention due to its promising application in photonic and PV devices. (1−4) FEs show switchable polarization under external electric fields (E).

Facile C−N coupling of coordinated ammonia and labile carbonyl or acetonitrile promoted by a thiolate-bridged dicobalt reaction scaffold
Facile C−N coupling of coordinated ammonia and labile carbonyl or acetonitrile promoted by a thiolate-bridged dicobalt reaction scaffold At low temperature, interaction of thiolate-bridged dicobalt carbonyl complex [Cp*Co(I)(μ-SEt)2(CO)CoCp*][I] (Cp* = η5-C5Me5) (1) with NH3 resulted in the C−N coupling of the coordinated CO and amido originated from ammonia activation to afford a dicobalt formylamino complex [Cp*Co(μ-SEt)2(μ-η1:η1-O=CNH2)CoCp*][I] (2).
CO2 fixation and transformation on a thiolate-bridged dicobalt scaffold under oxidising conditions
CO2 fixation and transformation on a thiolate-bridged dicobalt scaffold under oxidising conditions Through successive one-electron reduction processes, a coordinatively unsaturated thiolate-bridged CoIICoII complex [Cp*Co(μ-SEt)2CoCp*] (1) was facilely generated in high yield. In the presence of O2, complex 1 can smoothly take up CO2, and then install it at the Co2S2 scaffold in the form of a carbonate bridge to give complex [Cp*Co(μ-SEt)2(μ-η1:η1-CO3)CoCp*] (2).
Negative and positive photodielectric effect in the quantum paraelectric BaFe12O19 single crystals
Effects of light illumination on the dielectric properties were investigated in the ferrimagnetic quantum paraelectric BaFe12O19 single crystals. The enhancement and reduction of dielectric constant under light illumination, i.e., positive and negative photodielectric (PD) effect, were found in BaFe12O19.
Crossover of Thermal Expansion from Positive to Negative by Removing the Excess Fluorines in Cubic ReO3-type TiZrF7-x
We report the crossover of the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) from positive to negative with withdrawing the excess fluorines in ReO3-type TiZrF7-x (x = 0, 0.5 and 1) compounds. The average volumetric CTE between 300 K and 623 K changes from 8.07 ppm/K for x = 0, to 0.66 ppm/K for x = 0.5 and finally to -6.09 ppm/K for x = 1.

Synthesis, Structural Characterization and Conversion of Dinuclear Iron‒sulfur Clusters Containing the Disulfide Ligand: [Cp*Fe(µ-η2:η2-bdt)(cis-µ-η1:η1-S2)FeCp*], [Cp*Fe(µ-S(C6H4S2))(cis-µ-η1:η1-S2)FeCp*], and [{Cp*Fe(bdt)}2(trans-µ-η1:η1-S2)] - Dalton T
Treatment of [Cp*Fe(µ-?2:?4-bdt)FeCp*] (1, Cp* = C5Me5, bdt = benzene-1,2-dithiolate) with 1/4 equiv. of elemental sulfur (S8) gave a dinuclear iron–sulfur cluster [Cp*Fe(µ-?2:?2-bdt)(cis-µ-?1:?1-S2)FeCp*] (2), which contains a cis-1,2-disulfide ligand. When complex 2 further interacted with 1/8 equiv. of S8, another sulfur atom inserted into an Fe?S bond to give a rare product [Cp*Fe(µ-S(C6H4S2))(cis-µ-?1:?1-S2)FeCp*] (3).
Role of rare earth in the magnetic, magnetocaloric and magnetoelectric properties of RCrO3 (R=Dy,Nd,Tb,Er) crystals
We report a systematic study on the magnetic, magnetocaloric (MC), specific heat and magnetoelectric (ME) properties of the single crystals of rare-earth orthochromites, RCrO3 (R=Dy, Nd, Er, Tb). Interesting stair-like metamagnetic transitions were observed for the first time in TbCrO3 crystal. Intrinsic large anisotropy in magnetic and ME properties were also revealed in all these RCrO3crystals.
Structural Characterization and Proton Reduction Electrocatalysis of Thiolate-Bridged Bimetallic (CoCo and CoFe) Complexes
Using an assembly method, dinuclear CoCo and CoFe complexes supported by a bdt ligand, [Cp*Co(?-?2:?2-bdt)(?-I)CoCp*][PF6] (1[PF6], Cp* = ?5-C5Me5, bdt = benzene-1,2-dithiolate), and [Cp*Co(?-?2:?4-bdt)FeCp'][PF6] (3[PF6], Cp' = ?5-C5Me4H) were synthesized in high yields. Upon chemical reduction with CoCp2, complexes 1[PF6] and 3[PF6] were converted to [Cp*Co(µ-?2:?2-bdt)CoCp*] (2) and [Cp*Co(?-?2:?4-bdt)FeCp'][PF6] (3), respectively.
