Op-Ed: The Nassau Order Protecting Girl's Sports Should Not have been Struck Down
By Peter Clines Earlier this year, Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman issued a groundbreaking document entitled “An Executive Order for Fairness for Women and Girls in Sports”. Applicable to County sports facilities, the order prohibited biological males from intruding upon athletic competitions reserved for women or girls.
Op-Ed: Save our Patriotic Mission of “Duty, Honor and Country”
By Peter Clines Patriotism is not just declining in this country; it is in free-fall. The latest example of this crisis involves the United States Military Academy, which should be the country’s impregnable stronghold of patriotism. Believe it or not, as of this month, it is no longer the mission of the Academy to instill the patriotic values of “duty, honor, country” in the Army’s officer corps.

Op-Ed: Democrats Want an Abominable Coalition of Jews and Militant Anti-Semites
By Peter Clines While I am not Jewish, I know this: there cannot be a political coalition of Jewish voters and militant antisemites. The very notion is a both an absurdity and an abomination. Yet, remarkably, that is the impossible coalition the Democratic Party is asking voters to support. It is time to accept the obvious: the conventional political alignments of the past are now incoherent.
SUNY & CUNY prof and students need a course on free speech Original
College students, faculty and administrators clearly need urgent remedial instruction in freedom of speech and First Amendment values. Free-speech advocates were justifiably appalled by this month’s shocking episode at Hunter College, where a professor unleashed a profanity-laden public attack on a group of pro-life students. Their offense? They dared to exercise their free-speech rights by setting up an information table with pro-life literature in a CUNY building.
The Broken Room
Overview The new supernatural thriller from New York Times bestselling author Peter Clines You can still owe the dead. Hector was the best of the best. A government operative who could bring armies to a halt and nations to their knees. But when his own country betrayed him, he dropped off the grid and picked up the first of many bottles. Natalie can’t remember much of her life before her family brought her to the US, but she remembers the cages.
Termination Shock
Embarrassed for Stephenson. Somehow Stephenson had to find a way to account for the drastic acceleration in climate change. And the best he could come up with is so implausible that it really comes off as insulting, at least to this reader. Seriously? It's Elon Musk's fault?

The Filaments of Fiction: Peter Clines on Stranger From The Depths
All things considered, I was a pretty lucky kid. I grew up with a little shop just a half hour’s walk from my home, well stocked with comic books and a small paperback sci-fi/fantasy section. I had easy access to ROM and Spider-Man, Edgar Rice Burroughs and Brian Daley’s Han Solo novels. But the book that really stuck with me came from the library. It was around maybe fifth grade that I stumbled across Stranger From The Depths by Gerry Turner.

Michael Ridding
One big tease! It’s still one big mystery. Even tho this is Book 1 in the series, it really does feel like a lead in. The tale ends with lots and lots of questions unanswered. Still, it is intriguing. Our main character, Michael Ridding, was approached by DenCom owner Benedict to do odd research jobs for the company. Now Michael and his best friend Aron have been doing so for a few years. It’s allowed Michael to keep his aquarium store alive and well, while also giving him some fun adventures.
Listen to Artemis - Audiobook
The best-selling author of The Martian returns with an irresistible new near-future thriller - a heist story set on the moon. Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent.

Listen to What the Hell Did I Just Read - Audiobook
It's the story "They" don't want you to listen to. Though, to be fair, "They" are probably right about this one. To quote the Bible, "Learning the truth can be like loosening a necktie, only to realize it was the only thing keeping your head attached". No, don't put the book back on the shelf - it is now your duty to purchase it to prevent others from listening to it. Yes, it works with audiobooks, too, I don't have time to explain how.
Book Review: Ex-Isle: A Novel By Peter Clines
What would the X-Men do during a zombie apocalypse? Okay, so not the X-Men specifically. Peter Clines Ex-Heroes series has examined this “super” interesting “what would you (superheroes) do” scenario – Clines has his own “metahumans,” both heroes and villains. And sometimes… not even human. Once the “Ex” dust settles, what is life like for these heroes that live amongst the humans, and the little society they have created? Ex-Isle is that story.
PARADOX BOUND by Peter Clines
An aimless young man escapes his dead-end town when he meets a badass, time-traveling adventuress. Well, it’s just about weird enough in America now for us to deserve a timey-wimey, full-barrel adventure novel from professional noodle-bender Clines (Ex-Isle, 2016, etc.) that also teaches a non-ironic lesson in American civics. One night 8-year-old Eli Teague of tiny Sanders, Maine, comes upon a woman decked out in Revolutionary War attire, complete with pistols, driving a souped-up 1929 Model A.
Boek | The Fold - Peter Clines
A page-turning science-fiction thriller from the author of Paradox Bound and the Ex-Heroes series. Step into the fold. It's perfectly safe. The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence.
[GUEST POST] Peter Clines (Author of EX-ISLE) on Super People vs. Superheroes
Peter Clines is the author of the Ex-Heroes series, including the new EX-ISLE, and also THE FOLD. He babbles on about superheroes a lot on Twitter. Super v Super by Peter Clines So, my new book Ex-Isle came out earlier this month. It’s the fifth book in my ongoing Ex-Heroes series about superheroes in the world of a zombie apocalypse. Some of them, like St. George and Zzzap, have inherent superhuman abilities.

Seveneves: A Novel
Seveneves will rightly take its place in the sci-fi cannon as one of the best post-apocalyptic novels written.
Armada: A Novel Audiobook | Ernest Cline | Audible.com
Unfortunately for me, Armada fell flat; despite Wil Wheaton knocking it out of the park again in his reading (though there were some level issues between cuts). I would have hoped that Cline had grown as a writer after Ready Player One (RPO), but he seems to have ascribed to the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mantra. The problem is that approach doesn't work with writing unless you're going to continue an existing story.

SF Signal is pleased to present this exciting excerpt from Ex-heroes, a novel by Peter Clines, who we interviewed yesterday. Here is the book synopsis for Ex-heroes: Stealth. Gorgon. Regenerator. Billions died, civilization fell, and the city of angels was left a desolate zombie wasteland.
