Beech Acres foster parent retires after 42 years of helping children

Barb Moore remembers how it all got started, back in 1982. With her children off to school, she told her mom she missed the joy and happiness of having kids in the house. And she knew she still had more love to give. She saw a flyer about foster parenting and called Beech Acres Parenting Center to learn more. “That first call made me want to become a foster parent to make a contribution myself, for parents who needed help with their kids,” she remembered.

Great Parks, volunteers team up for MLK Day service project

Great Parks took action on the Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service by teaming up with volunteers to beautify the Roselawn area around the Great Parks Nature Center at The Summit. The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is an official day of service that recognizes the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. Great Parks has partnered with community volunteers on the day for several years now, with a cleanup effort near the Nature Center at The Summit and Summit Road.

Beech Acres Parenting Center marks 175 years with family fun event

Beech Acres Parenting Center will celebrate 175 years of helping children and families, by throwing the biggest, brightest birthday bash in town – For the Love of Kids – a festive takeover of Washington Park in downtown Cincinnati from noon-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, free and open to everyone. Free pizza and cupcakes, inflatables and other fun family activities will circle the park. For the Love of Kids will commemorate Beech Acres’ 175 years of growing loving family connections.
