Domů Knihy Emočne zrelá žena Přehled Emocne zrela zena vychadza z pribehu autorky Geri Scazzerovej a hovorí o tom, ako našla cestu z neautentickej, povrchnej spirituality k skutočnej slobode v Kristovi. Kazdy, kto nasleduje Jezisa, by mal spoznat a aplikovat pravdy, z ktorých Geri s Peterom vychádzajú, a sú základom duchovnej formácie a hodnôt v zbore New Life Fellowship Church v Queense v New Yorku, ktorého sú súčasťou.

The Life Cycle of the Sermon
The Life Cycle of the Sermon Most sermons follow a similar pattern: birth, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. In his 25 years of preaching, Pete Scazzero, pastor of New Life Church in Queens, New York, has noticed a pattern for his sermon preparation process. Scazzero calls it "The Life Cycle of the Sermon," and he claims that his sermons follow this cycle at least 95 percent of the time.
Do You Follow the Right Jesus?
Image: Illustration by Rick Szuecs / Source images: Wikimedia Commons / Envato As pastors immersed in Western culture, it’s difficult to disentangle our view of Jesus from the Americanized identity we value—an identity measured mostly in terms of what looks good, feels good, and does good. The question arises: What does it mean for us to be cross-centered and follow the crucified Jesus in our context? What are the distinctions between the world’s discipleship and Jesus’ discipleship?

Making Room for God to Burst Forth in Your Life Jesus calls us to release our clutter and follow him—no matter what it costs. Introduction Today we will talk about making room for God to burst forth in your life. The story of the young ruler reflects one of the major themes in the Gospel of Mark.
‘The Mandalorian’ Can Teach Us How to Navigate Crises of Faith
The galaxy can be a complicated place. Din Djarin, the title character of the Disney+ show The Mandalorian, learns this quickly. Played by Pedro Pascal, the stoic gunslinger has led Star Wars fans into unexplored corners of the much-loved franchise and become the world’s favorite foster dad. As Din travels to various planets tracking down the mysterious alien child Grogu (better known as Baby Yoda) and eventually seeking a good home for him, he meets people whose beliefs severely challenge his own.
Screwtape’s Practical Advice for Dealing with the Present
What you should do is imagine all the bad things that could happen. Picture each awful possibility as you lie awake at 3 a.m., letting image after image flood your mind. Think about how you would bear it if you were sick from the coronavirus, or if COVID-19 struck someone you loved. That’s what Screwtape would advise. A lot of people are looking for practical counsel at the present, and one excellent resource is a series of letters “written by Screwtape” and published by C. S. Lewis.
Paying Attention to God
God’s invitation for us is to hear his voice, trust him in the valley, see his beauty, and receive his love. Introduction The Christian life is about a muscle. Simon Vay said that the only way we can love people is if we know how to pay attention. The most generous thing we can give to somebody who is suffering is we pay attention to them. And she said it is very rare in our culture and difficult to pay attention to a suffering person because we are so bad at it.
The Road to Emotional Health
In September 1987, forty-five people attended the first worship service of New Life Fellowship Church. God moved powerfully in those early years, and it wasn’t long before the congregation had grown to 160 people. After three years, we launched a Spanish-speaking congregation. By the end of our sixth year, attendance at the English service had reached 400, and 250 were attending the Spanish service. It was an exciting and rewarding experience for a young pastor. People were coming to Christ.
Four Lies That Keep Us from Church
After Hurricane Katrina passed through my state in 2005, I was selected to be a research subject for a study conducted by Harvard Medical School. At regular intervals following the storm, researchers called to ask me a set of questions about my mental and emotional health, as well as my social support system.

A Grown-Up, Not Sexed-Up, View of Womanhood
In the overblown bluster about Miley Cyrus's VMA performance, we neglected a crucial discussion about growing up female in our culture. CNN highlighted the point Cyrus was trying to make, declaring that "she is, after all, no longer the teen Disney star she once was." Her performance was a public pronouncement of her coming-of-age.
