The Texas Department of Transportation had offered cyclist Mike Bagg $0. Recently, attorneys with the Bike Law network took a case to a trial against a titan of a defendant: the Texas Department of Transportation. TxDOT was represented by the Attorney General’s Office, one of Texas’ largest legal teams. We had a great client, but it was a tough case to prove. So tough, in fact, that TxDOT offered nothing to settle the case before trial.

Bike lane would be a bridge to equal access

Our city and regional leaders have completely failed to plan for transportation. Even so, more and more of us are bicycling. Charleston had the highest growth in bicycle commuting in the nation from 2009 to 2013 (73.4 percent growth).
Stop As Yield A Safe Option for Bicyclists | Bike Law

My experience, both on my bike and at my desk, has shown it’s a good law that has worked well. In fact, the law has actually reduced the number of bike-car accidents in Idaho. Under our law a cyclist can, when it’s safe to do so, treat a stop sign as a yield sign or a stop light as a stop sign.
