A two-day music festival in Madras is bringing classic rock tributes to the stage and visitors into the community. Legends Reloaded is taking place Friday and Saturday at the Jefferson County Event Complex. The festival features tribute performances honoring major classic rock acts, including Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, the Allman Brothers, ZZ Top and others. “Legends Reloaded is a two-day tribute band festival here,” said Jason Fellman, co-producer of Legends Reloaded.

A group of Central Oregon Special Olympics athletes is headed to one of the biggest stages in the country. Ten local soccer players, along with a golfer and swimmer from Klamath Falls, have been selected to compete in the Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota. The athletes leave early Friday morning, but on Thursday night, they were sent off in Redmond by family, coaches, law enforcement and firefighters. The sendoff was held at the Comfort Suites near Redmond Airport.

ALFALFA, Ore. -- It was a hot, dry and windy afternoon in Alfalfa Tuesday. Those conditions turned a small vegetation fire into a fast-moving scare. "Oh my God. Got an alert. Got out of my house. Took a look saw the big plume in the sky. Heard a huge boom, And that drew my interest to come over here with a shovel and a rake, just in case I could help," Allen Green said, who lives in Alfalfa.
