Sick of that NYC ice cream truck jingle? Here’s when it breaks the rules.

Summer's winding down, but you'll likely still be hearing the familiar jingle of an ice cream truck for a little longer. But if the truck full of treats stops outside of your apartment, the music is supposed to stop, too. New York City rules allow for food-vending vehicles to play jingles while they're in motion. But the noise is prohibited once the vehicle is parked, standing or stopped, a spokesperson for the city's Department of Environmental Protection told Gothamist.

NYC ‘Rocky Horror’ fans do the 'Time Warp' again for Tim Curry

New Yorkers are mourning another beloved performer. Actor Tim Curry, best known to generations of fans as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” died Tuesday night at his home in Los Angeles, his longtime manager and friend Marcia Hurwitz told the Associated Press. He was 80. No cause of death was disclosed. The news came one day after country music legend Dolly Parton died at 80, sparking tributes across New York City.
