Larger habitat islands maintain more persistent mutualistic assemblages
Abstract Habitat loss and fragmentation threaten biodiversity by reducing species richness and disrupting ecological interactions. But it is poorly understood how reduced habitat area and increased isolation impact community persistence, as measured by its capacity to maintain multispecies coexistence.
Development and validation of a multimodal nomogram predicting anxiety and depression in Parkinson’s disease: integrating plasma biomarkers and clinical phenotypes
Abstract Introduction: Anxiety and depression are prevalent, disabling, yet frequently underdiagnosed non-motor symptoms in Parkinson’s disease (PD). This study aimed to develop and validate a non-invasive model predicting these affective disorders by integrating peripheral blood biomarkers with standardized clinical scales to facilitate early screening.

Direction-switchable transverse optical torque on a dipolar phase-change nanoparticle
We propose that a transition from positive optical torque (OT) to negative OT occurs in a dipolar nanoparticle subjected to a simple optical field composed of two circularly polarized plane waves. This phenomenon can be observed in a phase-change nanoparticle comprising insulating and metallic phases. The analytical expression based on the multipole expansion theory reveals that the positive OT in the metallic phase originates from the electric response during light–matter interaction.
Yearly Review: Approved Technical Grade Active Ingredients(TGAIs) in China for 2023
Since the release of the new pesticide management regulations in 2017, the number of newly registered TGAIs in China has been consistently declining each year. CIRS group has compiled a year-end review, providing a reference for the newly registered TGAIs in China as of December 10th, 2023. Prior to 2017, the annual new registered pesticide TGAIs in China ranged from 200 to 400.

China to Prohibit the Use of Four Highly Toxic Pesticides
Starting from December 1, 2023, the authority will revoke the registration of omethoate, carbofuran, methomyl, and aldicarb formulations, prohibiting their production. However, legally produced products can be sold and used within the quality assurance period until December 1, 2025, after which their sale and use will be prohibited. Only the production and export of technical materials by the original manufacturers will be allowed, and they will be subject to closed-loop operation supervision.
A Secure Localization Scheme for UASNs Based on Anchor Node Self-Adaptive Adjustment
Abstract : The UASNs are widely used in underwater communications and monitoring, and many applications require accurate information regarding the position of nodes. However, intentional attacks against devices or information transmission may exist in the network, and the localization process is periodic, so it is necessary to quickly address attacks and optimize the network structure.
