Triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic isolation, she changed her career track from reporting on China's domestic issues to being an international reporter based in the U.S. after over a decade of journalistic working experience at Xinhua News Agency. 2023 - Academic
Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism’s highest graduate student award was instituted in 1937 as a tribute to the late Harry Franklin Harrington, who was the first director of Medill. Based on journalistic promise and high scholastic achievement, it is awarded to an outstanding graduate student selected by the faculty in each major area of specialization.
William H. Jones Memorial Scholarship
2022 - Academic
The criteria for this endowed award was based on my academic performance here at Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University, as well as a faculty recommendation. This scholarship was established in 1984 through the generosity of the Chicago Tribune Foundation in honor of William H. Jones, Chicago Tribune's assistant managing editor and a Pulitzer Prize winner.
