Abstract Spin-orbit torque has emerged as a leading strategy for low-power magnetisation switching in modern spintronics. To date, most efforts have focused on boosting spin currents via the spin Hall effect, exploiting only the electron’s spin while largely ignoring its orbital angular momentum.

ABH allows elastic waves to propagate with significantly lower phase and group velocities by reducing the wall thickness in a power-law relationship.

In recent studies, the development of a deep ultraviolet laser diode1,2 with the shortest wavelength in the world (271.8 nm) and a deep ultraviolet light-emitting diode (DUV-LED)3–6 has been reported. These devices were fabricated on AlN substrates.
