Much of this information remains locked in publications and is inaccessible to digital workflows. Plazi converts taxonomic treatments, names, figures, tables, material citations, and references into FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data.

Biodiversity Literature Repository: a repository and gateway to data in publications

The Biodiversity Literature Repository (BLR) is a domain-specific community in the Zenodo repository that hosts liberated data from scholarly publications and made Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reproducible (FAIR) digital objects. It represents 30% of all the deposits in Zenodo, a data storage service of the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN).
