Namely, if you weren’t expecting anybody, and it rang, would you answer it? Apparently your reply to this pressing matter (no pun, etc) instantly identifies which generation you’re part of.

Feeling seen isn't always a positive thing. “Comfort creep: do YOU have it?” Good Housekeeping asked, accusingly. I was certain that I did, even before knowing what it was. And that this was not good. “Same holidays, same TV shows, same restaurants, same wine … If your life lacks excitement, it's time for an anti-comfort crusade!” OK, guilty as charged, but hang on a second. When did the comfort zone become a horrific dystopia from which you must escape at all costs? Comfort?

In the early days of WhatsApp, if someone had gone into their privacy settings and turned them off, so you could never be sure when or even if this person had read your message, that told you all you needed to know. No blue ticks = red flag.
