Direct observation of reversible conversion and alloying reactions in Bi2(MoO4)3 (based) lithium-ion battery anode Bi2(MoO4)3 has been evaluated as an interesting anode material for applications in lithium-ion batteries. For cycling in the voltage window 0.01 – 2.50 V a specific charge capacity of more than 750 mAh g-1 is retained after 50 cycles. According to operando synchrotron X-ray diffraction (XRD) long range order is lost during the initial lithiation.

Advances on the LiCl salt flux method and the preparation of phase pure La2−xNdxLiHO3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 2) oxyhydrides LiCl salt flux method is an established aid in oxyhydride synthesis. By operating the flux below its melting point, we obtain phase pure Nd2LiHO3 for the first time. Further, the suitability of the method is shown to have a delicate balance between the thermal stability of the oxyhydride in question and the ionic mobility of the reactants, which is facilitated by the flux.
