The Florida Coalition for Children’s legislative kickoff breakfast turned into a historical event Tuesday when executive vice president and chief policy and research officer Victoria Zepp announced the United States' first foster and adoptive caucus at the state level.

Photo Courtesy of flgov.com. Gov. Ron DeSantis has unveiled his proposed state budget. Dubbed the “Bold vision for a brighter future” by the DeSantis administration, at $93.1 billion it is the most expensive state budget proposal in Florida’s history. According to the Tampa Bay Times, DeSantis held a morning briefing at Florida Gulf Coast University where he stated that his proposal would surpass former Gov. Rick Scott’s proposal by $1 billion.

Just down the street from Florida A&M’s campus is FAMU DRS, the university’s Developmental Research School. It was founded in 1887, the same year as the college, and was formerly known as Lucy Molten. It started as a teacher training school and in 1932, became a model school for FAMU.
