Background Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) is a condition characterized typically by the Hakim’s triad: incontinence, gait disturbance and cognitive decline (Nakajima et al., 2021). It predominantly affects the elderly, with a prevalence of 1.4–3.7%, increasing with age (Andersson et al., 2019; Shprecher et al., 2008).

Study design and sample The current study uses the data from the project Cognitive SuperAging (CoSA) realized in 2018–2020, and from the first wave of the National Normative Study of Cognitive Determinants of Healthy Aging (NANOK), which was its predecessor, realized in 2012–2015 [36], and approved by the Ethics Committee of the Prague Psychiatric Centre under the reference number 64/11. Only participants of the NANOK were invited to the CoSA.
